About us

One product. All of us.

POSify Pro is not a side project of an agency, and not one product in a portfolio. It is the only thing we build — and 12 people in Dar es Salaam have been building it since 2017.

Our story

Built at the counter, not in a boardroom.

POSify Pro started in 2017 with a simple observation: the point-of-sale systems sold in Tanzania were designed somewhere else. They assumed internet that never drops, hardware that costs more than a month’s stock, and cashiers with time for training courses. Businesses paid for them, fought them, and went back to notebooks.

So we wrote the first lines of code that year and spent the next two testing at real counters in Dar es Salaam — through power cuts, network outages and Saturday-evening queues. What survived became POSify Pro, launched publicly in 2019: offline-first, running on ordinary Android devices, simple enough to learn in an hour.

Today, 12 of us work on it — and only it. Every engineer, designer and support specialist is in-house, in one city, on one product. When something at your counter needs fixing, the person who wrote that code is down the corridor.

Mission

Give every Tanzanian business — from a single duka to a national chain — the same command of its numbers that the biggest companies take for granted.

Vision

An East Africa where no business decision is made blind — because the software behind the counter was built by people who understand the counter.

What we hold ourselves to

Four values. No poster on the wall needed.

Clarity over jargon

We explain what the system does, what it costs and where things stand — in plain language, in Swahili or English, without hiding behind technical terms.

Speed with craft

Fast rollouts are only a virtue if the software holds up at a busy counter on a Saturday. We ship quickly, and we ship things we maintain for years.

Own the outcome

We don’t measure success by activating an account. We measure it by whether your queue moves faster and your numbers get sharper.

Partnerships, not transactions

Shops that joined us in our first year are still with us. That only happens when the relationship outlasts the invoice.

The team

12 people. One standard.

Everyone who touches POSify Pro — the engineer writing the code, the designer shaping the screens, the support specialist answering your message — sits on the same team, in the same city, held to the same standard. When you call, you reach someone who can actually change things.

How we communicate

You will never chase us for an update. Every customer gets a named contact, plain-language answers, and the uncomfortable news early — because a surprise is a choice, and we don’t make it.

How we deliver

A rollout takes days, not months: products in, data imported, staff trained at their own counter. Then the product keeps improving underneath you — updates ship continuously to every business on the platform.

Milestones

Nine years of one obsession.

2017

First lines of code

POSify Pro begins in Dar es Salaam — born from watching Tanzanian businesses wrestle with imported POS systems that assumed perfect internet and expensive hardware.

2018

First counters

Pilot shops around Dar es Salaam run the earliest builds. Power cuts, network drop-outs and rush-hour queues shape the product more than any specification document.

2019

Public launch

POSify Pro opens to everyone: offline-first, Android-native, priced for real Tanzanian businesses.

2021

Beyond the till

Multi-shop management, purchasing, stock transfers and expense tracking join the platform — one account for the whole operation.

2023

12 people, one roof

The team grows to 12 engineers, designers, QA and support specialists — all in-house, all in Dar es Salaam, all on one product.

Today

Still answering

POSify Pro runs counters across Tanzania, and the same team that builds it picks up when you write. That part will not change.

Why clients stay

Anyone can win a client. We keep them.

Shops that joined POSify Pro in its first year are still ringing up sales on it today. The reason is not sentimental — it’s operational:

  • A named contact who knows your setup — not a ticket queue
  • Honest timelines, and early warning when anything moves
  • One product, deeply built — every update makes your POS better
  • Training and support in Swahili and English
  • A team that has seen your exact counter a hundred times before
